'Creating awareness about sustainable environment protection without secondary pollution'

While conducting health care projects we came across a very big reason behind occurence of diseases in big cities - improper waste management.

All of us have come across various awareness campaigns run by municipal corporations about seggregation of dry and wet waste at home. Have you ever seen what happens afterwards? The whole effort at the beginning of the chain is wasted because the seggregation is not retained thereafter. Someday visit a dumping ground close by and you will see the problem. They become the source of pollution themselves. Vast population that lives near such places suffer from dreaded diseases.

An even more pathetic condition is about the water bodies under municipal corporations. A lot of money is spent to clean them up from time to time. However, rarely any lake or pond comes out of the process of continuous detoriation. The main reason for this is inappropriate way of preserving them. You cannot treat such vast water bodies with chemicals. There are fantastic solutions in biotechnology but most of our municipal corporations do not use them. Death of a lake, till date, does not cost anybody his job; but it takes a toll on the health of people living close by. Since patient pays for his own health care our system does not bother about polution surrounding him.

We are a bunch of monkeys who are bitten by the bugs of standing up to health issues. We think without doing something about our environment we cannot improve public health. If we had enough resources we would have cleaned up a lot of water bodies and done something to accelerate biodegradation of municipal solid waste.

Please get our leaflets on various environment issues and distribute within your community. The environment, we live in, is so fragile that we must not be careless about it. Join us in this project.
